As published by RAPAPORT, a record blue diamond owned by De Beers and Diacore will go under the hammer for auction at Sotheby’s in April, carrying a price tag of $48 million. The 15.10 carat, fancy blue, internally flawless stone is the largest of its color to appear at auction. The diamond will feature in a stand-alone sale in Hong Kong as part of the auction house’s Luxury Week.
Nir Livnat, executive chairman of Diacore, said: “This is a great moment for us and De Beers. ‘The De Beers Cullinan Blue’ that Diacore manufactured and polished is one of the most extraordinary and beautiful blue diamonds ever go on auction – we are very excited”.
